The first half of the handle sculpt is now completed. I used some thematics of a church for the main swell in the handle such as a brick pattern and an archway styled in a stained glass window where the gemstone will be hosted.

As I work on this as well, I may consider throwing in another theme based on the story of Frankenstein's Monster, where things considered beautiful are put together in a way or form that clash or don't amplify said beauty. In the original story by Mary Shelley, the monster was made from the parts of people described as "beautiful" but when put together, these things of beauty clashed to make something horrific/ugly. This also ties with the theme of opulence, where such a great gathering of wealth and beautiful objects may reveal a more ugly/unpleasant side of some people.

The work so far has been slow and gruelling, but it'll be well worth it in the end.
